Tuesday Jun 25                                            Sunny & warm                                                Crawford Bay, BC
Even though we have dropped in elevation (1,200 / 385 m) since Cranbrook, here in Crawford Bay (1,760 ft / 536 m), it can be cool in the mornings.

Before coffee this morning, Jen wanted to check out the trail from the RV park to the beach.

Walking to the edge of the RV park, we found the trail by
site 100. We walked less than 1/4 of the way to the beach
before we realized it was too far for Jen to continue.

We walked back and went to suss out the bakery at the front of the park. Closed! Not open Monday or Tuesday. Drat!

So we hopped in Alfie and drove the short distance into Crawford Bay. We were looking for the Black Salt Cafe. After driving by where it was supposed to be, turning around and parking, we walked back and found the place.

The sign certainly didn't help! That's the sign in the
elongated oval in the picture below.
That grass looks pretty high! How high you ask?
We sat out on the patio amongst the potted plants and flowers. The sunshine was warming, especially after the rainy day yesterday.
After coffee, we returned to Ali. Jen needed to put her feet up so I thought I would hop on my bike and check out the trail to the beach.

The trail was rough in spots - lots of tree roots!

Nevertheless, I made it to the beach.
While the map we had showed the trail going east (left), I couldn't see any indication of a trail in either direction.
So I turned around and pedalled back to the park.

I enjoyed my ride even tho it was a little tough on the derriere.

Tomorrow we will try the bakery and see where we go from there. Join us tomorrow.
