Thursday May 9                                                Sunny & warm                                                  Castlegar, BC
Jen wanted to finish the Millennium Walk we did yesterday so back we went. The day was sunny and warm, a gentle cooling breeze blowing. The weather has been superb since we hit the interior a week or so ago. Cool nights, it was 6.6C when I got up this morning at 0530, but mid-20C by afternoon. But I digress.

The south end of the Millennium Walk heads south then loops back on itself. Here are some pictures I took.
Looking back on what appears to be a man-made beach area just off the Columbia River (at right).
Back at Alfie, we decided to go check out the Hugh L Keenleyside dam, 13 km west of Castlegar. Apparently this dam houses a lock which lifts boats from the river level (right) to the lake level (left).

Unfortunately it was closed - some maintenance work is being performed. Here's an overhead picture from Wikipedia.
Back at the park, after tea, it was time to get ready for supper. Yesterday I suggested to Garnett that we do "burgers & beer". Garnett provided a nice salad and beer, we made the burgers (with all the fixin's) and dessert. Boy, Jen and I could not remember the last time we cooked burgers on the barbie.

Garnett's off to Trail tomorrow and I'm going to tackle the installation of Ali's new window. Wish me luck.

See you next time.
