Sunday May 19                                              Sun, cloud & cool                                                        Kaslo, BC

Well it's not raining, but it certainly isn't very warm. We're glad that we have full hookups here at Woodbury. It's still not the weather to be camping in the elements.

Today is the Show & Shine in Kaslo. After breakfast we headed into town.
We're early enough - it's just after 10 a.m. so it was easy to find a parking spot. Then we walked up to the Show and Shine car show on Front Street.
Here's Jen explaining the operation of her power wheelchair to a young lad with Downs Syndrome. He was fascinated with the chair and asked Jen lots of questions.
My fave: '69 Mustang Fastback
There were many vehicles in the Show & Shine; I just couldn't take pictures of all of them.

But one vehicle came in late, as we were walking to the other part of the show down on the waterfront.

It was a VW Westphalia (camper van). That gave me an idea: over time fix up our Alfie (he's a 1999 high top conversion van) and enter him into a local car show. Might just give that a try!
I first saw this car when I was 10 years old. The thing that fascinated me about this 1954 Mercury Monteray were the sliding controls over the steering column. I remember thinking at the time how cool that was.
Well, that was the car show. It was really interesting to see the work that some people put in to restoring and maintaining these fine old vehicles.

Back at Woodbury, I took this picture from the laundry building.
Tomorrow is probably going to be a quiet day. I expect many people will be on the road heading back from whence they came. I think we'll just spend the day around camp

Monday we head to the municipal campground right in Kaslo. We'll be there for a week.

See you then.
