Saturday Jun 1 / Sunday Jun 2                        Sunny, hot,  windy, & some rain                       Cranbrook, BC
Saturday, Jen & I drove from Moyie Lake Prov. Park into Cranbrook (about 15 miles).

While making a shopping list on my phone, I saw an old note that I had made some months ago - about the Kootenay Express model railroad convention and train show - "It's this weekend in Cranbrook; the train show is on right now!", I exclaimed.

So after shopping, I left Jen to rest while I visited the train show. I saw my old friend, Hal Kinsey, owner of Central Hobbies in Vancouver, at his booth at the show.

Late Sunday afternoon, I again visited the train show. I thought Hal could maybe use an extra body to pack up his stuff for his return to Vancouver. Nope, he had it covered!

Below are some of the pictures I took during my two visits.

BOW VALLEY R.R. CLUB

HO scale DCC rectangular layout set low, probably for kids to see easily.

Neat motorhome model!
City scene.
Ballast would make this scene, and the entire layout, much nicer.
Nice lashup!
Great detail.
Head end of a long string of covered hoppers.
Mid-train helper.
Rear end pusher.
A super-detailed Trackmobile with red flashing LEDs on roof, and headlights.
Club member, Susan, operating intermodal crane. She made up this train earlier in the morning and now is unloading the containers. These Heljan cranes no longer made. Club has 4, 2 operating and 2 for spares. Current price is ~$3,000 for one!
Drive-in Theatre
Heavy load!
Just look at the detail!
City scene.
Oops, looks like a light pole needs to be replaced.
Dare I say too much stuff??!!
Oil refinery being built.
Did the repaving equipment cause the accident??
A popular hangout for you know who.
Engine terminal at yard throat.
...and some bridges.
A nice steel trestle but somehow I doubt the railroad would have poured so much concrete into the footings and not thought of making the towers fit the terrain.
NORTH OKANAGAN MODEL RAILROADERS

HO Scale DCC rectangular layout.
MOUNT RAINIER N-SCALE

N scale DCC rectangular layout. Sorry, still too small for my liking.
LA BA JA MODEL RAILWAY GROUP

HO scale DCC 70' X 26' L-shaped layout.

Excellent layout with a lot of detail.
