Up early this morning to catch the ferry to Balfour and the other side of Kootenay Lake. When we got to the ferry terminal just after 8 a.m. for the 9 a.m. sailing, the parking lot looked like this...
Apparently Jen was concerned that we might have to wait because a local had mentioned that there could be hours-long waits for the ferry on a long weekend. She didn't tell me this; however, I knew we were going to get on okay because there was virtually no traffic on the highway heading in the direction of the ferry as we got ready to leave.

How's this for an idyllic spot for your house? The ferry was reasonably full. This is the space left at the back of the ferry.
Looking back at the view and the ferry terminal.
As we parked the rig, I watched in my mirror a small car (an Outback) towing a travel trailer. We've seen this before where the trailer is wider than the standard mirrors on the car. We've seen many like this and only a few with extension mirrors.

Here's a shot as I walked back to Alfie. Can you see the mirrors on the tow vehicle?? No, it's not the little blip by the gentleman at the front of the ferry. That's the mirror on the first car. Here's the car towing the trailer.

My question is: How safe is it if you can't see down the side of your trailer??
Okay, that's my rant done for Canada Day.

We're back in Castlegar for a couple of weeks. When we do something interesting I'll update the blog.
