Thursday Jul 18                                                Sunny & warm                                                    Rossland, BC
Today we drove up the hill to Rossland, and I mean, we drove up the hill!

In almost 9 kms, we climbed 583 metres (1,916').

It was a lovely morning, so we parked Alfie and walked the main drag of Rossland.

Boy, these Castlegar Sculpturewalk sculptures are everywhere!
We marvelled at the architecture of the old buildings. Many of these are modelled on the Golden City Railway Modellers historic layout. It was neat to see the buildings in person.
Three pictures that were on the wall of one of the buildings.
Time to get back in the van and do some leisurely touring - give Jen a chance to rest her weary legs.

We drove up a side street and next thing we knew we were coming to the intersection where all roads go downhill, and the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre is located.

We looked around the Museum - there is a fee to view all the exhibits both inside and outside. We decided we would return another day.
After an early dinner, we headed to Gyro Park and the Thursday night Music in the Park. The park was teeming with people, kids, and dogs. We treated ourselves to an ice cream and listened to the rock bank play in the bandstand. Jen was in her w/chair; I sat on a concrete picnic table. But after 45 minutes my derriere needed a change of scene plus the wind was blowing and the sun was just about to set behind the hills. Time to head back to Ali.
That's it for today. Not sure right now what we're doing tomorrow, so why don't you check back and see what we get up to.
