Saturday Jul 27                                                      Sunny & hot                                                      Trail, BC
Yesterday we decided to stay at the RV park. The weather was forecast to be sunny and hot, and it was. Best to lounge in the shade of the trees.

But today is market day!

We're always interested in the local Farmers Market and today's the day. Shortly after 10 a.m. this morning we headed in to downtown Trail. The market is on a city street that is closed to traffic.

There were a number of vendors on both sides of Cedar Avenue. It was fun to walk the stalls and chat with the vendors. One of the vendors was the vineyard we tried to visit earlier this week, the one whose OPEN sign flashed, but no one was to be found. Apparently, after chatting with the lady manning the stall, there is a small sign somewhere that instructs the visitor to call the staff via the radio. Well, we didn't see that sign or that radio.

We tasted the 3 whites and 2 reds and didn't like any of them. So perhaps it was a good thing we didn't get to visit the winery; we might have felt obligated to buy a bottle.
After walking up and down the vendor stalls a couple of times, it was time
for a coffee. The Doorway was at the end of the market area with a couple
of tables outside, so we bought a couple of coffees, sat outside in the shade,
and people watched.

As I walked out of the store, I noticed this door mat. Too bad it was so heavy.

After a nice break, we headed back to Alfie.

We drove up the river past Gyro Park to the residential area called Sunningdale, across the river from Tadanac. We thought there might be a view from the top of Sandpit Road, but this is the best we could find.
I visited the guys at the Golden City Railway Modellers in the Waneta plaza this afternoon while Jen relaxed.

So that's it for today. Tomorrow is going to be hot again. I think it might just be another day to relax at the park while the weekend crowd heads home.
