Thursday Aug 15                                                 Sunny & hot                                               Grand Forks, BC
I  meant to take these pictures yesterday - a very nice treatment of the hanging basket supports on the light poles around the path in the park...
We said goodbye to our neighbours, Kim & Norm, before we headed off this morning.

We went looking for Mrs B&B's Bakery south of town. It was not a coffee shop, just a bakery so we took a scenic drive along the Kettle River back to The Wooden Spoon cafe.
Another lovely morning to sit outside and enjoy a Spirit Bear coffee and treat. Afterwards, we headed west looking for the Museum.

Having already been to the Creston Museum, we decided to forego this museum, especially as the sign outside advertised an admission fee.

We continued on Reservoir Road and climbed to 690 m (2,264') above Grand Forks.
After reaching the "summit", on Hardy Mountain Road, we descended to North Fork Road. Hey, here's another scenic drive, let's go. We turned left and drove up the west side of the Granby River, 15 km to a bridge which crosses the river before the highway heads back towards Grand Forks.

Three kids had their Lemonade stand on the side of the road. We couldn't ignore their frantic waving of their flags. Eleven, 10, and 8. They had $15 so far but wouldn't tell us what they were saving for. Cute!
As we came around the curves in the picture above, I noticed what looked like an old railway right of way. I got out, walked back up the highway and took a couple of pictures.
We really enjoyed our 3 scenic drives today. It's nice to just go for a drive and explore some of the area.

Tomorrow we head for Midway for the weekend.

Join us then.
