Monday Jun 8                                                                                                                            Errington, BC
This morning we arrived at Englishman River Falls Provincial Park. The park is at the end of Errington Road, just down the road and around the corner from where our good friends Betty & Frank used to live.

We've visited the park many times but never camped here. We reserved site 51.

Here we are almost set up. We don't often put the awning out but rain is forecast and we want to keep things dry so we put it out after this picture was taken.

The weather was cool essentially for our entire 4-day stay. Englishman is like many BC provincial parks - no services. We had a water spigot across the road next to the garbage/recycling bins.

Park staff were great. I had one of the Park Operators stop and chat one morning. She was very interested in Ali. I gave her our card. I hope she has an opportunity to check out our blog.
Here are some pictures I took as we walked the park and visited the upper falls.

The water plummets into a narrow gap in the rocks. It can't be more than 5-10' across before calming and continuing its leisurely journey to the ocean.

You can definitely tell you are in a rain forest—just look at the moss covering the branches!

The weather was cool but fortunately the forecast did not hold true—we had some rain, but not nearly as much as expected.

Our good friends Betty & Frank joined us for tea on Thursday, our last day, and the sun shone their entire visit. That was really nice on all counts.

Tomorrow we head south to Brannen Lake RV Park just east of Nanaimo, down the road from the jail. We've never stayed there so we are looking forward to checking the place out.

See you there.
