Tuesday May 5 - How Did the Van Know?
Insert text here.
After saying our goodbyes to the Hollands this morning, we headed to Maple Ridge across the new-to-us Golden Ears bridge.

We arrived at our first stop - our back-door neighbours Ann & Walter. We had a lovely visit - Walter was off skiing! Ann showed us some of her artwork - this lady is talented!!

We hopped in the van and backed the rig out of the driveway. The engine sounded awful; the Check Engine Light was on, then started flashing. And talk about a misfire!!

We limped to our local Goodyear tire shop - Jeff and his crew serviced our vehicles during the 8 years we lived in Maple Ridge.

As I had some time, I called my old home reno buddy, Morgan Jensen. He stopped by the tire shop on his way to a doc's appointment. After a couple of hours in total, we were on our way to our PPS friends Richard & Dorothy's place in Pitt Meadows.

Well, unfortunately for us, Dorothy was in Hope, BC till Sunday - our loss. But we told Richard that we might just stop in Hope on our way to 100 Mile House and say "Hello". He said he would give us directions.

Richard suggested, if Jennie didn't mind, that I accompany Richard to the Maple Ridge Model Railroad club. I am a club member and had not been since we left Maple Ridge. So off we went.

As luck would have it, it was a club member's birthday - Bob turned 80 today. So there was cake for all!! Here are Bob (right) and Richard:
