July 20-22 - Kamloops, BC

Well, it was a scorcher on the drive down the Yellowhead Hwy to Kamloops the other day!

37C on the van thermometer when we arrived at the bottom of the climb out of Kamloops to our resting place for a few days - Knutsford RV Park on Hwy 5A - just outside of Kamloops. Alphie, our van handled the climb brilliantly, albeit his temperature climbed to the highest we have experienced on the trip so far.

We booked in for 3 days. Yesterday, as I write this on Wednesday, our old friends Ron and Linda, who live in Kamloops, brought lunch to the campsite. Lunch was lovely altho' the weather was very variable -  just when we thought it might be time to put on something warmer, the sun came out. And vice versa. Nonetheless we have a nice time visiting with Ron and Linda. It's been more than a few years since we saw them last.

Tomorrow we head for Merritt, BC for 4 days. Then onto Hope, BC for 3 days, then to friends in Chilliwack and Langley before we check into Burnaby Cariboo RV Park on Aug 1 for a week.

We're finding that it's really fun to stop in places that, in previous years, we have just driven by, in a hurry to get to our destination. Now getting there is a large "fun" part of our trip. So we win on both counts!

So, sorry, no pictures, but we'll see you in Merritt tomorrow!
