Sep 08 - Grand Coulee Dam, Electric City, WA
She who shall remain nameless....(at the lookout where I took the picture above)
This morning we headed for Electric City and the Grand Coulee dam. The scenery was more of the same.
We arrived in Osoyoos and checked into an RV park. We decided to stay for 3 days to rest and recharge the batteries.

Sunday morning we head north through the Okanagan Valley to Enderby to visit Judy, Gary, and Molly whom we met in Fort Nelson last summer on our way north to Whitehorse. Should be good fun to catch up!
We turned north and headed for "home".
After cresting the Disautel Summit at 3,252', we descended into Omak, WA. We're almost at the border!
It's hard to see but these rock formations looked like cheese balls; like they had been rolled down a slope and picked up smaller rocks on their surface as they did.
We visited the dam over 30 years ago during one of our first camping trips together. Needless to say we did not remember anything. And it didn't help that we were approaching the dam from the opposite direction. From the south, we descended into Electric City.

We were going to stay in Electric City, at least that was the plan, but none of the campgrounds we drove by looked at all appealing. So after a visit to the dam and a bite of lunch we headed north to Osoyoos, BC.

The Grand Coulee dam is impressive.
