Wednesday Aug 14                                             Sunny & hot                                            Christina Lake, BC
After breakfast this morning I went for a walk around the park.
The weather is going to be hot again today so we headed back up Hwy 3 to Christina Lake reasonably early. First stop was the Visitor Centre.
Outside on an information board, we read about the history of this area (as well as noticing a typo). Jeesh, doesn't anybody proofread anymore??
Here's the main reason Jen wanted to visit the Visitors Centre...

So we decided to have some fun...

After coffee we went looking for Cascade Falls. One of the access points is just at the Christina Lake sign on the south side of town.
Now it was time for coffee.
I left Jen in Alfie while I checked out the route. Easy, just a short distance.

We walked the railway bridge over the gorge. Quite dramatic. The local teenagers certainly had a novel way of cooling off in the heat of the day.
Following the rail trail down the river, we went looking for the falls. The actual falls are right about where the "K" of the descriptor Kettle River is.
Along the way, we saw this waterfall...
I had to leave Jen on the main trail while I walked down a very rough path. At the end of a short walk, I saw this...

Well that was quite the walk for Jen. While she rests, I came to the Library to update the blog.
