Tuesday Aug 27                                              Sunny & hot                                  Gold Pan Provincial Park, BC
Our second day at Gold Pan. What a delightful site we have.
But we don't have cell service so we drove into Spences Bridge this morning to The Packing House Café.

Just around the corner from the café are these information boards describing the three crossings of the Thompson River in Spences Bridge. Click on the pictures to expand.
There was no one around so I stopped and we got out of the van. The next thing I know, two rental RVs were clamouring for a parking spot.
And here's what all the fuss is about...the old supports for the third bridge...

While Jen looked at the info boards, I drove the short distance to the café. I met Jen halfway and we walked to the Packing House café for coffee.

We ordered coffee and a treat then sat out on the patio at the front.
It's a little hard to see in this photo, but it sure looks like those rocky outcroppings wouldn't last in a shaker!

On the way back to Gold Pan, I asked Jen to take a couple of pics of the CP rail line on the other side of the Thompson.

Back at camp, the white water rafters floated by...

We really lucked out when we snagged site #7!!

Trains and more rafters...

Looking south, CN going north, CP going south...

And lots of pipe, on trains as well as many, many trucks.

Well, that's the excitement for today.

Tomorrow we head south to Hope, BC. The weather is forecast to continue to be sunny and hot.

See you in Hope.
