Wednesday Sep 11 - Saturday Sep 14                                                                                         Sechelt, BC
For our first night in Sechelt, we decided to visit the Lighthouse Pub just up the road from the RV park. Colleen our hostess at the park highly recommended the place and as the weather forecast for the next few days is for rain and/or showers, we thought tonight would be a good evening to visit the pub.

And it turned out that Wednesday are "Wings Night" - chicken wings @ $0.60 each. Jen had a Persephone Stout, while I ordered a Guinness, then we tucked into 2 dozen Cajun-rubbed wings. Delicious!!
Friday the 13th!

This morning we drove back down Hwy 101 to Davis Bay. The seaside walk is paved.  Jen wanted to walk, so we did. About 20 minutes in, the forecast rain arrived early. Back at Alfie, I put my rain jacket on, and we continued our walk, only to realize that we were not that far from the north end of the pavement.
As it was coffee time, we walked across the highway to the Gourmet Girl café, sat outside (under cover) and enjoyed coffee and a treat.

After coffee Jen mentioned that there was a park on the point just a bit south, so we went to check it out.
Continuing our walk along the seafront we read these signboards with interest.
As we walked we came across someone's tiny house...
Later in the afternoon, while the sun was trying really hard to shine, I suggested to Jen that we take our books and go find a quiet place. We turned right out of the RV park and drove to the north end of Sechelt Inlet Road. At the end of the road, we walked onto the beach. Looking south, Sechelt is down around the point in the middle of the picture...
And, looking north, this scene is what the west coast is all about...the ocean and mountains and sometimes, blue skies, altho not today.
How about that place on the rocks...
Saturday

Well it's trying hard to rain but it's not (yet), so off to the Farmers Market we go. The market blocks off the end of Cowrie Street, near the muni hall for the weekly event.
On the way to a bead shop that Jen wanted to check out, I caught the fire department exercising their ladder truck. The bucket was still moving upwards when I snapped this pic. If you don't think they're very high, check out the red truck body far below...
After the bead shop, we stopped for coffee at the Basted Baker cafe, then we continued our stroll around the city centre...
These "Living Stones" freaked Jen out...
Along the waterfront, what else, high-priced condos...
When excavation for the condo building was underway, a peat bog was discovered...
Seabulk has designed and built a new deep sea berth and ship loader for the export of construction aggregate...
As we walked back to Alfie, we saw signs for the Wood Expo (we'd forgotten!) so we had a brief look around...
The flowers are still blooming in the hanging baskets around Sechelt...
My treat for the day from the market...
