So you might be wondering what there is to do in Cache Creek, BC (pop: 1,037) for two days. Us too!! Not much as it turns out.

We decided last night to take a drive to the Highland Valley Copper mine on the road to Logan Lake. This is an impressive, if not worrying, sight to see. Operations at the mine have been extended to 2019.

The drive up to the mine was equally impressive - a combination of an 8% grade followed by an 11% grade. Total elevation change approx. 488m (1,600') over 10.5 kms (6.5 miles).

We stopped on the way back in Ashcroft where we found a grocery store!! YEA!! (We wondered where CC people shopped for groceries!)
Tomorrow we head north, to Clinton, BC for 1 night.
