Feb 18 - Courtenay, BC
After yesterday's deluge, we awoke to cloudy skies, but no rain. By the time we had had breakfast the sun was starting to peek through the overcast - time to take a couple of pictures!

Jennie had found a bead store in Courtenay, and as we needed to gas up the van (PetroCan – 86.9), we headed south to Courtenay just before noon. Shipwrecked Bead Shop was great. Jennie had a question about one of the bracelets she had made and Leanne was extremely helpful.

Building on that success, we headed for coffee at the Zocalo Café. This place was great too – lots of space for Jen to maneuver her wheelchair. Afterwards, we strolled along 5th Street in the sunshine.

We headed back to Salmon Point and arrived just after 2pm. R&R for the rest of the day methinks!
I went for my morning stroll down out towards the beach. Overcast but the sun was trying hard to show itself...

The "business" side of things....
Feb 19 - Riding out the Storm
Well, wasn't that exciting??!!

There we were sitting in Ali, just a-rockin' & a-rollin'. We turned on the Weather Network to find a red screen - uh oh - that ain't good! "High winds causing.....". So we hunkered down for a while, then as the winds abated, we headed a couple of kms down the highway to the local grocery store. Before we left we grabbed a coffee and tea at a coffee shop - not the greatest sitting area, but the refreshments were good.

We climbed back into Alfie and headed back to Ali.

The storm continued, on and off, and by late afternoon, it was over.
