Vancouver Island, Sep-Dec 2016   and   Jan-Feb 2017
As scheduled, on Nov 1, we left Errington and headed south to our winter home at Pedder Bay RV Resort & Marina
As you can see, we're kinda off the beaten track - our closest shopping areas are Sooke to the west and Langford to
the east.
A month later, on Oct 22, we decided to drive over "the hump" to Port Alberni for coffee. We hadn't seen the Centennial Pier which opened in 2012 while we were living in Nova Scotia.
December 24 was a really nice day so we drove to the Esquimalt Lagoon and walked along the beach
A couple of days later, we had more snow! I decided it was time to sit by the fire
And then, on Dec 6, it snowed - but not too much.
On Nov 19, we drove 11 miles to visit Pearson College (which we can see from the Pedder Bay coffee shop)
Three days later we were having coffee in Qualicum Beach when the riders in the Tour de Rock were greeted outside city hall.
Here are a few of Vancouver Island sightseeing trips:

On Sep 26, we visited Englishman River Falls just down the road from our good friends Betty and Frank. We hadn't visited the park for some time and today was a nice day so off we went.

Here's Jen doing another Duolingo lesson learning French and/or Spanish. Yes, she is doing both! If you are not familiar with Duolingo, check it out - it's free!
Just a few days before Christmas, a pair of swans arrived at the resort. Apparently they return every year!
That same day, the weather was nice, so we decided to visit Sitting Lady Falls just down the road in Metchosin.
Who knew we'd be winter camping on Vancouver Island!!??
Well that's about it for 2016. We'll see you next year!
